Take the guessing out of phone conversations!

CapTel works like any other telephone only it displays every word the caller says throughout the conversation in an easy-to-read display window. So now, anyone with hearing loss can enjoy natural telephone conversation with extraordinary clarity and without having to guess what is being said.

How does CapTel work?

Simply place a call like you would with a traditional phone. After you dial, CapTel automatically connects to a specially trained operator (behind the scenes) who uses the latest in voice recognition technology to transcribe everything the other party says into written text. The text appears in a bright display screen almost simultaneously with the spoken word. This service is available in English and Spanish!

Everyone can use the CapTel phone too – simply turn off the captions feature when you want to use it as a regular phone. You can even review captions during or after a call (500 lines of memory can be reviewed after hanging up). What’s more, CapTel also includes an amplified handset and tone control for added clarity.

Who benefits from CapTel?

Anyone with some degree of hearing loss, who is finding it more difficult to understand telephone conversations.
